Death toll from fungal meningitis outbreak now at 14

An outbreak of fungal meningitis has been linked to steroid shots for back pain. The medication, made by a specialty pharmacy in Massachusetts, has been recalled. To date, only one man in Idaho has been diagnosed with the illness.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there have been 170 reported illnesses with a current death toll of 14.

There are 11 states involved in the illnesses, including Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia.
