The temple is the most sacred place for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Mormon temple in Boise, which was first built in 1984, has undergone a magnificent renovation.

The building has new marble, intricate wooden trimmings and chandeliers made from real Swarovski crystals. The walls are also covered with glittering stained glass art and paintings of Jesus.

According to the Mormon elders, the temple is a place for special worship, to perfom proxy baptism and to take a break from the noisy outside world.

Church members also get married in the temple for time and all eternity. The temple will be formally dedicated on November 18.

Usually, people who are in good standing in the church, are the ones only allowed inside the temple on a regular basis. However, for a few weeks, the public is invited to tour the newly renovated Boise Idaho Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The open house will begin Saturday, Oct. 13 and will run through Nov. 10, but will not be open to the public on Sundays.

Tickets for the free tour are available by visiting www.boisemormontemple.org or by calling 1-855-537-2000.
