MERIDIAN, Idaho (AP) -- A lockdown at the Idaho State University-Meridian campus and Renaissance High School in Meridian has been lifted.

The two-hour lockdown was put into effect Wednesday afternoon after an armed suspect was spotted inside a vehicle in a parking lot shared by the two schools.

Meridian School District spokesman Eric Exline said officers responded and managed to get the person in custody. Authorities say the man was questioned, but not arrested after concluding he had a valid concealed weapons permit.
