Football game, other events at Boise State this weekend to alter parking, traffic in the area
The next home football game on the Boise State campus will take place this Saturday, Oct. 13. The campus will also be hosting other events, including Parent and Family Weekend, Cirque du Soleil at the Taco Bell Arena and Bronco volleyball vs. Nevada. The events will cause parking changes all over campus and Boise.
Below is a list of street closures and parking information from the campus transportation department -
STREET CLOSURES – Grant and Euclid avenues closed
Grant Avenue between Belmont Street and University Drive will be closed starting at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday through the end of the game for security operations and construction. Euclid Avenue will be closed for the City of Boise Geothermal project, which includes the closure of the ET reserved accessible lot, through Oct. 25.
ACCESSIBLE PARKING – Parking lots will open to the public at 8 a.m.
Restrictions
There will be a $10 fee per space or free with a Boise State accessible permit for all accessible parking spaces. The vehicle must display an ADA license plate or placard, and the person assigned the registered placard/license plate must be in the vehicle to purchase accessible parking. There are no in-and-out privileges; vacated spaces will be resold.
Stadium Lots
Accessible parking stalls in the Stadium lots are available on a first-come, first-served basis for $10 or free to Boise State accessible permit holders. No in-and-out privileges. Accessible spaces are designated by space number. Vehicles must park in the correct numbered accessible space as designated on the permit.
ET Reserved Lot, Euclid Avenue and University Drive
Due to the geothermal construction project, the ET reserved lot will be closed Oct. 4-22. Additional accessible parking will be available in the Lincoln Avenue Parking Garage and in the Administration Visitors Lot.
Lincoln Avenue Parking Garage
Accessible parking is available for $10, or free with a valid Boise State accessible parking permit. The bottom floor has been reserved for accessible parking. A Boise State shuttle will be starting at 9:30 a.m. until one hour after the end of the game.
Relocated Vehicles
Vehicles that have been relocated for any reason, such as not displaying the proper permit, vehicles parked in an incorrect location or abandoned vehicles are relocated to the to the Lincoln Hall lot, located in the dirt lot off of Lincoln Avenue between University Drive and Belmont Street.
ON-CAMPUS PARKING DETAILS
Bicycle Parking
Secure, valet bicycle parking is provided from 11:30 a.m. until one hour after the game. The lot is near Christ Chapel on Cesar Chavez Lane. Retain your parking ticket to retrieve your bike.
Administration Visitor Lot
Spaces are $10 per vehicle. An accessible Boise State shuttle service will be provided two hours prior to kick-off and until one hour after the game.
Lincoln Avenue Parking Garage
Spaces are $10. An accessible Boise State shuttle will be provided four hours prior to kick-off and until one hour after the game. The entrance is located on Belmont Street between Lincoln Avenue and Michigan Street. Season parking passes are available for purchase in advance through http://transportation.boisestate.edu/ for $40, guaranteeing permit holders a space.
Brady Street Parking Garage
Due to parking necessary for “Dralion” by Cirque du Soleil and Parent and Family Weekend, parking will not be available in the Brady Garage for the Oct. 13 game. Guests should consider other on-campus lots or consider or off-campus parking options (see below).
Yanke Family Research Park Lot
Spaces are $6. This location is the only RV parking available on campus for non-Bronco Athletic Association members. No shuttle service will be provided to and from this lot; those parking in this lot are encouraged to walk to the game on the Greenbelt.
Liberal Arts and Library Lots
Limited access for Boise State permits holders only.
Bronco Athletic Association Reserved Parking
Those with pre-purchased parking permits through the Bronco Athletic Association will be allowed to enter their designated parking lots starting at 8 a.m. and are required to exit one hour after the game. BAA lots include all Stadium, Manitou, Denver, Denver and Beacon, and Norco lots and the Lincoln Avenue Parking Garage.
Off-Campus Parking Details
Downtown Public Parking Garages
Attendees are encouraged to park in downtown public parking garages and ride the shuttle to the game. The cost is $5. For more information, call Downtown Boise Association at 472-5251 or visit http://www.downtownboise.org/index.cfm/getting_around/bronco_shuttle.
Street Parking
Parking on University Drive is restricted from 2-5 a.m. Violators are subject to a $47 citation and may have their cars towed.
Boise State discourages parking on residential side streets. For those who choose to park on city streets, remember that vehicles cannot be parked longer than 24 hours, no parking is allowed 30 feet from stop signs or 20 feet from an intersection, no parking in alleyways, driveways or vacant yards, and all vehicles must be within 18 inches of the curb. A portion of Grant Street will be closed from 5 a.m.-2 p.m. by the Alumni Center. See www.cityofboise.org/Departments/City_Clerk/CityCode/ for City parking rules.
URS Parking Garage, 720 Park Blvd.
URS Parking Garage opens at 11 a.m. Free shuttle service is provided to and from the game from noon until one hour after the game.
Julia Davis Park
