Firefighter charged with arson posts bond
BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- A volunteer firefighter charged with intentionally starting a wildfire that destroyed a house, led to the evacuation of about 80 others and burned 440 acres of private land northeast of Boise has bonded out of jail.
18-year-old Nathaniel Bartholomew bonded out of the Ada County jail on Wednesday evening, after posting a $5,000 bond.
Earlier this week, he appeared in court where he waived a preliminary hearing.
His next court appearance on the third-degree arson charge is set for Oct 11.
Bartholomew was arrested while fighting the fire on Sept. 17, just hours after the fire started. The Karney Fire is now fully contained.
