United Water to install new water lines in the North End, seeks public input
United Water is planning to install new water transmission mains on private property in the Boise foothills, north of Hill Road between 26th and 28th Streets, starting October 15. According to the company, the project will help improve "water system reliability" and to maintain state compliance for drinking water.
The project will temporatility restrict recreational access along 28th Street, but will also be bringing fire protection to those residents.
“This project will add a fire hydrant on 28th Street in an area that needs improved public fire protection,” said Greg Wyatt, Vice President and General Manager of United Water. “By installing the new mains north of Hill Road and existing homes, we will improve customers’ water service and increase reliability, which will maintain compliance with Idaho Department of Environmental Quality standards.”
A community meeting to discuss the project is scheduled for Thursday, October 4 at 7:00 PM at the LDS Chapel at 2680 Hill Road. The project should take approximately up to six weeks, depending on weather.
