OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- An Idaho prison inmate faces murder and rape charges in the killing of an 11-year-old Ogden girl in 1983.

An arrest warrant against 44-year-old Gregory Seamons was filed last week in Ogden's 2nd District Court. It says DNA evidence taken from the scene of Rebecca Lemberger's murder was recently matched with Seamons' DNA.

Lemberger went missing after walking to school on March 2, 1983, and was found a day later in a shed on North Mountain Road.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports Seamons was interviewed twice from prison and told police he didn't know Lemberger and wasn't with her at the time of the crime.

The Idaho Department of Correction website says Seamons is an inmate whose sentence for a 2nd degree kidnapping conviction is set to expire in 2017.
