The United States Postal Service will be releasing 15 "Earthscapes" postage stamps, and a scene from Idaho will be included.

"Each stamp’s unique perspective makes it a window into a world most Americans never get to see," said Brian Sperry with the USPS. "The Earthscapes stamps go on sale at Post Offices nationwide beginning Oct. 1, 2012."

The photo was taken by Tom Brakefield of Tennessee, during a flight on an ultra-light aircraft.

"The Idaho scene offers a window into the past because this method of transport has largely died out," said Sperry. "Today, the timber industry relies on rail and roads to transport tree products from forests to sawmills." The stamp sheet will include different kinds of stamps, including photos of natural, agricultural and urban earthscapes, all shot from high above the earth.

“Idaho is one of my favorite places in the country to take photos,” said Brakefield. “I like the natural beauty of Idaho, its people, the potatoes, and the football.”
