Trial postponed for man accused of killing his wife and four children
MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) -- The trial of an Oregon man accused of murdering his wife and four children has been postponed until next summer.
The Mail Tribune newspaper reported Wednesday that attorneys for Jordan Criado requested the postponement. They submitted a motion last week to suppress evidence in the case.
The charges against Criado carry a potential death penalty.
Jackson County District Attorney Beth Heckert says the trial, previously set to begin in February, will begin June 18.
The 52-year-old Criado, a registered sex offender in California, faces 24 counts of aggravated murder, as well as murder, manslaughter and arson charges in the July 2011 slayings of his wife, Tabasha Paige-Criado, and their four children, aged 7 to 2.
