Bogus prepping for upcoming winter; hopes for better weather, business than a year ago
Despite a dismal winter for Bogus Basin and other Idaho ski resorts in 2011, employees at the recreation area just 16 miles from the heart of Boise, are getting ready for the upcoming season.
The slopes at Bogus weren't open to skiers and boarders at all in 2011. Bogus lost more than $2 million in revenue last season due to its record-breaking January 19 opening, the latest in the recreation area's history.
Even with a disastrous last winter, the Bogus team is making some new improvements in 2012 and hopes Mother Nature cooperates.
