Twin Falls man pleads guilty in child's death
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) -- A 20-year-old Twin Falls man has reached a plea agreement in the August 2011 death of his fiancie's 3-year-old son.
The Times-News reports Lane Alan Buddenhagen was originally charged with first-degree murder, but the charge was amended to voluntary manslaughter in the plea agreement reached Friday.
An amended indictment alleged the boy sustained a catastrophic brain injury while in Buddenhagen's care, but that the death was not premeditated.
Prosecutors will ask for a maximum of 10 years fixed prison time for Buddenhagen when he is sentenced on Nov. 2.
