Woman punches man after he attempts to steal her purse

Boise Police are investigating a report of an attempted robbery that took place in an alley this morning near 11th Street and Thatcher just after 8:30 a.m.

The victim tells police an adult male attempted to grab her purse as she was walking down an alley. She told police she punched the suspect, who ran away without her purse. She then called 911.

The woman injured her hand when she struck the suspect and paramedics responded to her location for medical treatment.

The suspect is described as a light skinned adult male, approximately 50 years old, very short hair, had large gotee mustache and beard around the mouth. He was wearing a black zip up jacket and blue jeans. The victim says the suspect smelled strongly of alcohol at the time of the incident.
