Idaho Stampede add three new staff members
The Idaho Stampede has added three new people to their coaching staff. Scott Williams and Barry Rohrssen have been added as assistant coaches, and Ed Flory has been named Director of Basketball Operations, the club, and its NBA affiliate Portland Trail Blazers.
According to the Stampede Williams is a 15-year NBC veteran and has played for teams such as the Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and Cleveland Cavaliers, holding career averages of 5.1 points and 4.7 rebounds in 16.4 minutes per game.
Rohrssen comes to the Stampede with college experience, particularly in the northeast, where he was the Head Coach at Manhattan University from 2006-2011. Rohrssen accumulated a record of 58-95 at Manhattan, while many of the players he recruited helped the 2011-12 team to 21 wins and a post-season berth.
Flory, a former assistant coach with the Stampede (2005-06) and Colorado 14ers (2006-08), was the head basketball coach at The Community School in Sun Valley, Idaho from 2008-10 and head basketball coach at Penn State Mont Alto (Mont Alto, Penn.) from 2010-11. Flory was a nationally-renowned swimmer at Kutztown University, an NCAA Division II national champion and 15-time coaches All-American.
This week, the team also announced their new head coach, Michael Peck.
