Idaho Stampede announces pre-season game in Winnemucca

The Idaho Stampede has announced they will be playing the Reno Bighorns in Winnemucca on November 19. The game will be a pre-season exhbition game.

"Winnemucca will be a great destination for this season's preseason game and will only help expose our franchise and league to more basketball fans," said Stampede President and General Manager Steve Brandes. "Our new Head Coach Michael Peck is excited to get his first taste of NBA D-League basketball."

Albert Lowry High School varsity boys' basketball coach Chad Peters has worked with the Bighorns and Winnemucca Century Club to bring the game to Winnemucca.

"We are very thankful that the Bighorns and the Stampede are willing to share this experience with us," Peters said. "High school basketball is a big deal in Northern Nevada and we love the idea of having professional basketball showcased out here for all the rural kids to experience as well. Basketball has a strong history out here and we are very happy to be adding something like this to it."

On Nov. 28, the Stampede kick of their 2012-12 season on the road against the Los Angeles D-Fenders. The team's first home game is December 7 against the defending D-League champion Austin Toros.
