Boise PD issues 36 citations Saturday on underage drinking patrol
September 8, Boise Police and Ada County conduced an "underage drinking party patrol". Four officers issued 36 citations for underage drinking, open containers and disorderly houses.
"The patrols are part of an ongoing education and enforcement effort to reduce the tragic consequences that often come with underage drinking," according to Boise Police. Underage alcohol consumption is often linked to the four leading causes of death for people under 25; homicide, suicide, car crashes, other accidents (see below).
All four officers report staying very busy dealing with intoxicated party-goers and very large groups of people traveling from party to party. Overall, officers issued 36 misdemeanor citations for alcohol related crimes:
32-Underage Drinking Citations
2-Open Container Violations
2-Disorderly House Citations
The highest BAC was a 19 year old female who was a .23 BAC.
