About 1,000 residents of Jackson, Wyoming are being told to prepare for evacuations because of a wildfire burning near the resort town, according to Paul Johnson with KMVT.

"So far authorities have not issued any mandatory evacuation orders because of the Little Horsethief Fire." said Johnson. But the fire, which is now about 15 percent contained, is now less than two miles from the town.

"The fire has burned about 1,500 acres in a forested mountain area," said Johnson. "Residents in the town could see the fire glowing Sunday night."

Snow King Resort is also near the fire and has closed its nearby trails and lift line.
