Kuna couple pleads guilty, gets probation for confining teens
BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- A Kuna couple charged with keeping their two teenagers confined to their rooms and severely restricting what they could eat have pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of disturbing the peace.
The Idaho Statesman reports 38-year-old Brian K. Bracy (pictured) and 34-year-old Melissa Louise Bracy of Kuna were placed on probation for two years and ordered not to contact the teens during that time.
Ada County Deputy Prosecutor Cathy Guzman said the plea agreement spared the teens from having to testify and got them out of the house to someplace safe.
Investigators alleged the teens were allowed to leave their rooms for only a few minutes a day and were fed only rice and water for weeks at a time.
The Bracys were initially charged with felony injury to a child.
