Filling in “The Pit” -- in 30 seconds!
Take a look at this time-lapse video of crews filling in the area on 8th and Main Streets in downtown Boise.
On Sunday, August 19th, crews coordinated a fleet of 162 cement trucks pouring over 1,300 cubic feet of concrete into what has affectionately become known as “The Pit.”
It was the first major step in construction of the $76 million Zion’s Bank building, to be constructed at the site.
The construction took crews about six hours –- from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. -– to fill in the hole.
Up next: a crane is scheduled to be brought to the site in mid-September, to facilitate the vertical construction of the building.
The building is scheduled to be completed in January, 2014.
