Boise PD conducts underage "party patrol"

Boise Police and Ada County Juvenile Probation conducted an underage drinking party patrol on Saturday throughout Boise.

"Officers stayed very busy with several very intoxicated minors ranging in age from 16-20 years old," said Boise Police. "Many of the minors were openly consuming alcohol in the middle of the street while walking to and from parties."

In one instance officers observed a group of minors parked behind a retail building off Broadway. Three minors entered the store, stole two large cases of beer and ran out of the store to the awaiting vehicle. The minors were ultimately caught and charged with burglary. All of the minors were high school students from local area schools.

Overall the following 38 citations/charges were issued:

25-Underage Drinking/Minor in Possession of Alcohol Citations
3-Open Container of Alcohol Violations
4-Felony Burglary Charges
2-Curfew Violations
1-Tobacco Violation
1-Reckless Driving
1-Providing False Information to Police
1-Minor was arrested for DUI (She also had two other minors in the vehicle who had been drinking alcohol)

-One female had a blood alcohol content of a .21 which was the highest of the evening. It was also her 3rd underage drinking ticket
-Almost every minor who was contacted by officers was coming from or going to another party.
