Area police conduct alcohol compliance checks at local businesses
Boise and Meridian Police conducted alcohol retailer compliance checks on Friday, August 24. The checks were conducted at 91 Boise/Meridian area buesiness and issued 11 citations for providing alcohol to minors.
"With Treasure Valley schools beginning along with Boise State University starting up this week, Officers wanted to remind retailers of the importance of checking ID and really watching for minors who are trying to acquire alcohol," said Boise PD.
Boise PD used three female minor decoys ages 19, 19 and 18 years old. Meridian PD used two minor decoys both 18 years old.
Boise Police checked 79 retail establishments with 9 establishments failing. Those who failed were:
-Albertsons at Gary Lane/State
-Applebee's at Gary Lane/State
-Jacksons at Emerald/Garden
-Tobacco Connection at Cassia/Vista
-Gem Stop Chevron at VMP/Chinden
-Stinker at Broadway/Howe
-Jacksons at Cherry Lane/Vista
-Fred Meyer at Federal Way/Findley
-Maverick Station at 5200 Chinden Blvd.
Meridian PD cited 2 individuals for providing alcohol to a minor. They also checked 12 retail establishments with 1 of the retailers selling alcohol to a minor.
Meridian PD also had 1 other adult who purchased alcohol for their minors.
The Meridian retail establishment who failed was Walgreens at Ten Mile/Cherry Ln.
