Wash. dad falls to death on hike with son
WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) -- The Chelan County Sheriff says a 40-year-old man slipped and fell to his death while hiking with his 9-year-old son over the weekend.
Brian Burnett says tells KPQ that searchers found the body of William Berry on Sunday morning. The Lakewood, Wash., man was hiking with his son on Saturday in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness when he lost his footing and fell 300 feet into rocks.
Burnett says the boy hiked out alone to seek help. Another group of people heard the boy's cries for help and notified deputies.
