Boise man arrested for driving off after allegedly hitting woman in crosswalk
Sunday morning just after midnight, Boise Police were called to a vehicle vs. pedestrian collistion on the corner of 6th and Grove.
The victim, an adult female, tells police she was using the crosswalk when the suspect, driving a car, struck her in the crosswalk. According to witnesses, the suspect did not stop after striking the suspect.
The woman received what appeared to be minimal non-life threatening injuries at the time.
Using information obtained from the victim, officers located the suspect at a residence on the 6300 block of Everett Street. The suspect, identified as Daniel J. Weatherly, 27 if Boise, appeared to be intoxicated at the time. He failed several field sobriety tests and a blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. A check through Ada County Records indicated the suspect was currently suspended from driving.
Weatherly was arrested on charges of Felony Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident, Felony Driving Under the Influence and Driving Without Privileges.
