U of I offers extended deadlines for firefighting students
The University of Idaho has joined Boise State University in announcing extended deadlines for firefighters attending their university.
"Student firefighters are among those who have spent the summer battling forest and wild land fires across the West," said U of I. "Fire season will continue into the early fall, past the start of the University of Idaho's academic year, which began on Monday, Aug. 20."
The University is allowing students who are also firefighters options when returning to classes.
“University of Idaho policy does make allowances for our students who are serving in critical capacities on the fire lines,” said Nancy Krogh, University of Idaho Registrar.
The students need to contact the registrar's office. If they choose not to return, their tuition and fees will be refunded.
To notify the University about a delayed return, call the Registrar’s Office at (208) 885-6731 or email registrar@uidaho.edu.
