Judge sentences man for pornography break-ins
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- A judge has sentenced a 21-year-old Eugene man to 34 months in prison for breaking into people's homes to view Internet pornography on their computers.
The Register Guard reports Antone Owen's attorney had asked for a sentence of probation with treatment after he pleaded guilty to five counts of first-degree burglary.
But Lane County Circuit Judge Lauren Holland imposed the sentence after hearing from victims about the impact on Owen's crimes on their lives and their continuing fears of intruders.
The judge told Owens he'd already had -- and blown -- a second chance, when he failed to get the treatment urged by a neighbor he victimized.
