Bail set at $2.5 million for daycare worker accused of lewd conduct with child
NAMPA, Idaho (AP) -- Canyon County officials investigating a lewd conduct charge against a daycare and school worker believe there may be other victims.
Joshua Curtis Ritchie of Nampa was arrested Tuesday and charged Wednesday with one count of felony lewd conduct with a 5-year-old. Prosecutor Bryan Taylor says the 23-year-old was being held at the Canyon County jail with bail set at $2.5 million.
Ritchie worked at Cornerstone Childcare in Nampa and at the Idaho Arts Charter School and had recently been hired to do lunchroom work for the Nampa School District.
Court records say Ritchie acknowledged having inappropriate contact with the boy on three occasions and to sexually touching at least a dozen other children between the ages of 5 and 12. Prosecutors say child pornography was found at Ritchie's house.
