Drunk Boise man leads police on high-speed chase

Boise Police observed a vehicle pass them Westbound on Federal Way at a very high rate of speed early Friday morning around 1:00 a.m.

The officer turned around and was attempting to catch up with the behicle when it turned on to Broadway Avenue and then Linden Street "at a high rate of speed."

He then turned on to Leadville Avenue and continued to speed, according to police.

"The officer witnessed the suspect drive through four different stop signs and estimated the suspect's speed to be as high as 75 miles per hour," according to Boise Police. "The officer activated his emergency lights at Leadville and Pennsylvania, in an attempt to stop the supsect's dangerous behavior. The suspect then sped up and going Northbound on Leadville at an estimated 75 miles per hour."

At that point, the officer became concerned for public safety, so he turned off his lights and called other officers into the area. Another officer saw the vehicle at Pennsylvania and Parkcenter Blvd. and the suspect finally pulled over.

The driver, Ian A. Schach, 25 of Boise, appeared intoxicated and blew a .14 and .14 at the Ada County Jail.

He was arrested on charges of Felony Fleeing and Evading and Driving Under the Influence.
