Idaho man shot last week charged in separate case
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) -- A southern Idaho man who was shot last week in Wendell has been charged with a felony in an unrelated case.
The Times-News reports that 22-year-old Mozes Jimenez is charged with aggravated battery. Prosecutors say on July 1, Jimenez hit a man in the head with a metal rod, causing him to lose consciousness. Police didn't immediately arrest Jimenez on that charge because they couldn't find him at the halfway house where he lived.
On Aug. 10, Jimenez was shot after police said he broke down a woman's door and attacked her. Police say in court documents that Mark Anthony Perez Jr., who was also at the home, shot Jimenez. Perez is charged with felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in connection with the shooting.
