Caldwell man found guilty of having sex with two underage runaways he met online
BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- A jury has convicted a Caldwell man of having sex with two teenage runaways he met through an online advertisement.
Adrian Allan Harthcock's bond was increased to $200,000 after the verdict came Tuesday in a southwestern Idaho courtroom.
He will be sentenced in September.
The Idaho Statesman reports Harthcock previously pleaded guilty to one lewd conduct charge and in exchange, prosecutors agreed to drop a second count. But Harthcock later changed his mind and decided to face a jury on both charges.
Police say a 13-year-old who ran away from home last year reported she became involved with Harthcock after she responded to his posting on Craigslist. Officers later found a 15-year-old girl had responded to the post in April and lived with Harthcock for about week.
