Boise coach arrested for sexual battery of a minor
The Ada County Sheriff has arrested a gymnastics instructor for sexual battery of a minor.
According to the Sheriff's office, Derek Nesbitt, 22 of Boise, was arrested Friday at a facility on East Fairview in Boise.
"The arrest is a result of an investigation that began after deputies received information about alcohol provided to teens at a party at Nesbitt's home in the 2200 block of North Bluewater Place in Boise," according to Andrea Dearden with the Ada Co. Sheriff's office. "Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned Nesbitt has provided multiple teenagers with alcohol at numerous parties at his house. The investigation also revealed the gymnastics instructor had sexual contact with at least two females between the ages of 16 and 17."
The detectives say Nesbitt met the teens while working with the Borah High School cheerleading squad and as as gymnastics instructor.
Nesbitt was arrested on two charges of sexual battery of a minor between the age of 16 and 17. Detectives say additional charges are pending.
