Report: ISU bans booster from athletic events
POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) -- An eastern Idaho newspaper is reporting that Idaho State University is severing its relationship with a booster accused of offering money to potential recruits and their coaches
The Idaho State Journal reported Sunday that it obtained a letter the university sent to the booster, Matt Jolley, notifying him that he was banned from attending any event, game, fundraiser or activity held by the university.
In the letter dated April 27, the university told Jolley an internal investigation determined he had violated NCAA rules.
The newspaper reports school officials declined to comment.
Jolley said he was deeply saddened by the decision and felt his forced disassociation from Idaho State athletics was unfair and unwarranted. Jolley told the newspaper that any mistakes made on his part were unintentional.
