On July 4th, crews were busy, prepping for the big event of the night, the fireworks extravaganza in Ann Morrison Park! Organizers expect at least 35,000 people to show up this year.

Here are some tips for those who plan to check out the fireworks show:

-    Bring a flashlight with you, since it gets very dark after the fireworks are over.
-    Do not bring your own fireworks.
-    For pet owners, do not take your dogs or cats to the show.

By the way, the BSU Brady Garage and many downtown Boise parking garages are offering free parking on Independence Day.

You can also listen to some music to enjoy fully enjoy the fireworks.

[We’re] syncing the music with the fireworks on 107.1 K-Hits. If you want to turn on radio to 107.1, there’s some nice music mix that syncs up perfectly with the fireworks,” said Josh Schlaich, the fireworks event coordinator.

The fireworks show in Ann Morrison Park starts at 10:15 p.m., and lasts around 20 minutes. If you’re staying indoors, you can watch the fireworks live on TV.

It will air on our station Today’s 6, right after the 10 o’clock newscast.
