Boise police officers shot ank killed a 70-pound Mountain lion spotted clawing its way through a dumpster near the Boise State Student Union, Tuesday morning.
Idaho Fish and Game officials say this is the same cat that was seen roaming across the Friendship bridge across from campus next to the Greenbelt.
“I feel bad for the animal, especially a young one like this dying," conservation officer, Matt O'Connell said. "But sometimes it has to happen. It’s just the reality of what we do.”
O'Connell hoped the lion would return to the foothills, but because it was seen in population centers across Boise, O'Connell maintains his officers made the right call to pull the trigger.
