BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- Idaho voters will participate in the first primary election since the majority Republican Party shuttered its nominating process to people who aren't registered GOP members.

Tuesday's election features more than 300 congressional and legislative candidates.

As always, there are plenty of Democrat against Democrat and Republican versus Republican races.

But the closed GOP contests have taken on a bitter dimension, with House leaders including Majority Leader Mike Moyle of Star financing efforts to oust incumbents they don't like in both the House and Senate.

Meanwhile, House Assistant Majority Leader Scott Bedke has been giving money to incumbents on Moyle's legislative hit list, including House Majority Caucus Chairman Ken Roberts.

As a result, people will be watching who emerges victorious because the results could impact internal House leadership contests this December.
