Twin Falls Police recover dynamite from home
Tuesday afternoon the Twin Falls Police Department received a call from 302 6th Avenue East of some suspected dynamite in the back yard of the residence.
The Twin Falls Police Department evacuated the family in the home and warned the neighbors to stay away from the windows, and then used a bomb disposal robot to move the bag of dynamite into a secure container.
The Twin Falls Bomb Squad recovered approximately 6 sticks of dynamite from the back yard and 21 electric blasting caps from the basement of the residence.
Police Sgt. Luke Allen says the dynamite was around 25 years old, which means it was volatile and more likely to explode.
