Jerome soldier killed in Afghanistan to return home this weekend
Fort Carson is holding a memorial service for Sgt. Daniel J. Brown of Jerome, Idaho, who was killed in Afghanistan last month.
The memorial will be Wednesday at a chapel on the infantry post outside Colorado Springs.
Brown will return to Magic Valley Regional Airport this Saturday, April 6. His funeral will be held Sunday at the Physical Education and Student Rec Center on the College of Southern Idaho campus in Twin Falls. He will then be interred at Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls with full military honors.
The 27-year-old died March 24 from wounds he suffered from an improvised bomb.
It was his second deployment. He was sent to Afghanistan in 2011 and Iraq in 2005.
