A Mountain Home Air Force Base pilot has been killed in a jet crash in Southwest Asia.

The F-15E Strike Eagle crashed this morning, a second crewmember was taken to a military medical facility and treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The airman will be identifed after family members have been notified.

"This is obviously a very sad day for the Gunfighters, as we mourn the loss of one of our warriors," said Col. Ron Buckley, 366th Fighter Wing Commander. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this time."

There are more than 300 Mountain Home Airmen deployed in overseas in F-15E support missions.
