Today, the Idaho Senate voted to pass a bill 29-5 that would outlaw using handheld electronic devices while driving. The bill had been through amendments since it was last in the legislature, including removing an amendment saying emergency personnel would be exempted from the bill.

The bill now heads to Governor Otter for his signature, but he has not said whether he will sign it.
