Canyon County hires new Public Information Officer
Canyon County has announced the appointment of Joe Decker as its new Public Information Officer.
Decker, 27, was born and raised in nearby Emmett, and is graduate of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. He has spent the last several years as a news producer for a local television station and is excited to take on the challenges of his new position. “This is a great opportunity for folks interested in learning about what’s going on in Canyon County and I am eager to get started.”
Decker's responsibilities will include working with the County’s elected officials and the various departments heads as they work towards building a better future.
Joe Decker will serve as a contact point for internal and external communications, a source of public information, and a resource that benefits the entire County.
