Gov. Otter creates nuclear commission
Idaho's governor is taking steps to keep the Idaho National Laboratory at the forefront of nuclear energy.
Gov. Butch Otter created the Idaho Leadership in Nuclear Energy panel to support not only the 63-year-old INL but also the industry''s role in Eastern Idaho.
Department of Commerce Director Jeff Sayer will head the panel.
As part of its responsibilities the panel will advise the governor on how INL can remain an important part of the economy as well as ways to expand the nuclear industry in Idaho as a whole.
