When the new CWI Professional Technical building opens in the old Sam’s Club in Nampa in the fall, it won’t bear the Albertson name, even though The J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation donated $13 million of the $16.9 million it cost to renovate.

Instead, the school will be named after Micron, who donated $2.5 million toward the goal.

According to the Idaho Statesman, CWI President Bert Glandon said the Albertson foundation did not want the school to be named after them. “As a private family foundation, Albertson doesn't need to advertise, foundation officials said. Letting businesses that need to advertise put their names on buildings could encourage more giving.”

The center will house nine professional technical education programs as well as other services and is scheduled to be ready for classes fall 2012.
