Tuesday night, Howard Koskella, 86 of Donnelly, was traveling south on State Highway 55 when his vehicle left the road for unknown reasons.

Koskella's vehicle went down an embankment, rolling several times before coming to rest partially submerged in the Payette River.

Both Howard and his passenger, Ethel Koskella, age 83 and also of Donnelly, died as a result of the crash.

The crash actually occurred earlier in the day, but the exact time of the crash is unknown. The roadway was blocked for approximately half an hour while crews removed the vehicle.

Both occupants were wearing seatbelts and alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
