Boise man charged with firing into his neighbor's home after standoff

Boise Police received a call of shots fired early Sunday morning on West Camas in Boise.

Several witnesses told investigating officers they had a noise dispute with a neighbor, Link Porterfield, 38, then heard several shots fired toward their home. Officers found at least one shot did enter the house and that the shots were fired from the Porterfield's property. No one was injured.

Officers went to the Porterfield's home. He refused officers demands to come outside and talk.

Knowing the suspect had access to several weapons, the BPD SWAT team was called out as a precaution. Porterfield surrendered peacefully about 8:30 am.

He was charged with aggravated assault and firing into an occupied dwelling, both felonies.
