After his own experience renting boats, jet skis, and other recreation vehicles in the past, Kyle Sales became frustrated with the process.

"It was too expensive, it took too long to book assets in advance because there was low inventory, and the process took a lot of offline back and forth," explained Sales.

That's when he decided to take matters into his own hands and create a website that he said makes the task much easier.

It's called OutdoorToyShare.com. It's likeAirBnB but for boats, RV's, and other recreation vehicles.

Owners can list their vehicles for rent when they are not using them and make some money.

"These boats, RV's, Jet skis are really expensive. They are also really popular, but they are chronically underutilized. There is all of this time where it is not being used where people can offset some or all of their operating costs," said Sales.

Sales said the site gets rid of the complicated renting process, while offering a variety of products for less than a traditional rental company.

"You are able to look online, find what you want, and there is a description of what is included and all of the details," said Sales.

He said they have a number of safeguards in place to ensure the safety of the product.

Renters have to undergo a background check, place a deposit, and both renters and rentees are given insurance for the rental. They also have inspection forms that owners and renters go through together.

While Sales said the large majority of renters who have used the website have previously owned boats in the past, he is excited to open the waters to the less experienced.

"Its a nice way for people to share their love for the great outdoors."

The website is currently tailored for people in the Boise, Mccall, and Coeur D'Alene area, but Sales said they will be launching in Las Vegas and Phoenix later this year.
