BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit between a longtime biology teacher and the Idaho school district that didn't renew her teaching contract.

U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill ruled in favor of former superintendent Mark Gabrylczyk and the Snake River School District, which is based in Blackfoot, Idaho, a few weeks ago.

The Idaho Education Association filed the lawsuit on behalf of Elaine Asmus two years ago after school administrators declined to renew her teaching contract. The decision came after Asmus was put on probation following an argument with another teacher who happened to be the superintendent's wife.

In her lawsuit, Asmus contended in part that she was denied due process. Winmill denied those claims, and instead granted the school district's request for summary judgment.
