The Idaho Department of Transportation will be starting the complete replacement of the Broadway Bridge near Boise State University starting January of 2016.

The bridge was originally built in the 1950’s and needs to be repaired to accommodate high traffic volumes, pedestrians and bicyclists.

The project will disrupt traffic and people will need to plan accordingly.

"This is a full closure, so that means that motorists, cyclists, pedestrians will be detoured around the bridge via the Parkcenter Bridge and also on the Greenbelt via the Friendship Bridge," ITD Spokeswoman Jennifer Gonzalez explained.

The project is expected be completed by fall of 2016.

To help familiarize Boiseans with the changes, ITD will hold an open public house on November 2nd at 7:00 pm at the Washington Group Plaza building at 720 Park Blvd.
