Preservation work on bridges over the Boise River and Interstate 84 is scheduled to begin late August, according to the Idaho Transportation Department.

“All work will protect and preserve pavement life and provide improved vehicle traction. Bridge work over the Boise River is currently scheduled through early September. I-84 bridge work is scheduled for early to mid-September. Work schedules are weather-dependent,” said ITD spokeswoman Jennifer Gonzalez.

Traffic on the bridges will be reduced to one lane in each direction with flagger control and periodic delays. Minimal noise and light impacts are also anticipated in the work zone

Similar bridge preservation projects are also occurring this month on Idaho Highway 16, over the Boise River –- as well as on both the outbound Connector to the eastbound Flying Wye and the I-84 Maple Grove Road overpass in early September, she said.
