After about a year of construction, the Inn at 500 placed it's final I-Beam today.  Adorned with signatures of people affiliated with its construction and weighing in at about 1,000 pounds, it was hoisted along the North side of the building after celebration marked by grilled hot dogs and a few brief speeches.

"This hotel will be a high-quality, different experience than any of the other branded hotels around," said Brian Obie, of Obie Development Partners which developed the hotel, "... or different from any of the hotels we've heretofore been experiencing heretofore in Boise in the hotel business. People will love this," he said.

The hotel, located at 500 South Capitol Boulevard, says it has an ideal location down the street from the state capitol building and blocks away from Boise State University.

Brian Obie spearheaded the development, who is a former Eugene, Oregon Mayor and City Councilman.  He developed "The Inn at 5th" in Eugene, which is rated 4.8/5 stars on Expedia.com.
