Idaho has over 7,400 registered charities, and while non-profits are the 6th largest employer in the state, many say they wouldn't be able to do what they do if it were not for the help of volunteers.

Idaho ranked number 2 in the nation for volunteerism, donating 51 million hours of service and 1.3 billion dollars in salaries and wages.
