Idaho's governor signed legislation to approve $100,000 in state funds be used to help recruit an F-35 mission to the state.

The money will go to the Idaho Dept. of Commerce to promote efforts to attract the program to Boise's Gowen Field.

"Gowen Field represents about 150 million dollars of economic activity and 3,000 jobs," Boise Mayor Dave Bieter said. "It is vital to the future of our whole community that we move forward and be competitive."

Gowen Field is one of five locations in the running to receive the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Mission.
