BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- The Idaho Department of Fish and Game says there's been a computer breach and it has suspended online sales of licenses and tags.

The agency in a statement late Wednesday says the online licensing system run by a vendor will be down indefinitely.

Officials say it's not clear if hackers obtained the personal information of those who used the system to buy licenses.

The agency says other states in the West are investigating similar reported breaches.

Officials say those wanting to buy licenses and tags can do so at Fish and Game offices or at businesses that use a system that wasn't part of the breach.

Hundreds of deer and elk tags sold out this morning by non-Internet sales.  There are more than 400 partners who help sell deer and elk tags and other hunting permits in Idaho.
